Safe Moving & Handling Training

This course is designed to introduce delegates to the principles and practice of safe moving and handling. It will provide learners with the key skills and information required to safely transfer service users reducing the risk of injury to themselves and the recipient of their care. The course will also enable them to carry out client transfer operations with dignity and comfort, ensuring the needs of the individual are met. On successful completion of the course, the learner will receive a certificate valid for 1 year, refresh training is required following the expiration of this period.

Syllabus
This training is based on the NHS Scottish Passport framework for learning and includes:
  • The Theory of Manual Handling
  • Legislation
  • Practical application of Ergonomics
  • Equipment checks
  • Manoeuvres using a chair

Medication Administration

This Level 2 course provides candidates with the necessary knowledge and skills to administer medication in care homes, community care or care at home settings and is aimed at staff who are responsible for the handling, administrating and disposal of medication within the remit of their role.

Basic Life Support

This course is designed to provide the learner with basic first aid skills and is suitable for a variety of different individuals from Healthcare professionals, to school staff, dentistry professionals, parents, first aiders, sporting organisations to name only a few. The course includes CPR skills, recovery position, bleeding, choking and shock.

The course takes place over 3 hours and will teach the theoretical knowledge and relevant practical skills, which are assessed by our fully qualified tutors throughout the session.

The course will provide staff with the information to confidently respond to minor accidents and incidents within the workplace.

The Basic Life Support course can be completed in your workplace and is suitable for both novices or those looking to refresher their basic first aid skills.

This basic life support training course meets all the requirements to fully sign off standard 12 of the care certificate

Level 3 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults

Safeguarding is how we can protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect by the actions, or lack of actions, of another person. In order to safeguard and protect persons from abuse or neglect we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect. Everyone has the right to be safe and live without the fear of abuse, neglect or exploitation and this course aims to teach you how to recognise the signs of abuse and neglect and what actions you can take to stop this from happening and occurring again in the future. Abuse, neglect and exploitation can occur anywhere and by anyone, quite often being a person of trust. This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in everyday work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.
